The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, took part in the fifth annual Ljubovija 2006 Drina River Regatta.

At the invitation of the commanding officer of the Gendarmerie, Major-General Borivoje Tesic, and the Municipal Manager, Vidoje Jovanovic, Mr Markovic, along with 5,000 other participants, sailed from Rogacica to Ljubovija.

In a traditional event organised by the Drina River Regatta Environmental Association, and sponsored by the Ljubovija municipality, more than 700 boats sailed for over 10 hours down one of the most beautiful stretches of river in Serbia.
