20th Sitting of the Committee on Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy

At the sitting held on 19 October 2023, the members of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy considered the following:


  1. Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Bill, Section 21 – Ministry of Economy, Section 28 – Ministry of Mining and Energy, Section 32 – Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade and Section 37 – Ministry of Tourism and Youth’
  2. Ministry of Economy Activity Information for the period April-June 2023;
  3. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for April 2023;
  4. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for May 2023;
  5. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for June 2023;
  6. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for July 2023;
  7. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for August 2023, and
  8. Ministry of Economy Report on the Privatisation Process for September 2023.
The Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Bill, Section 21 – Ministry of Economy, Section 28 – Ministry of Mining and Energy, Section 32 – Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade and Section 37 – Ministry of Tourism and Youth, submitted by the Government were presented by representatives of the Ministry of Finance Ana Vesovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Youth Uros Kandic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy Darko Mitrovic and the Head of the Investment Project Realisation Sector at the Ministry of Economy Zorica Lovric.

The ministry representatives said that the Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Bill envisages further growth and development of the Republic of Serbia, with a special emphasis on improving the living standards of the citizens, through further increases in pensions, salaries in the public sector and minimum wages. The 2024 Budget Bill foresees an increase of 14.8% in pensions, 10% in public sector salaries and 17.8% in minimum wage, starting on 1 January 2024.

The total revenues and income secured by the 2024 Budget Bill amount to 2,049,000,000,000 RSD, which is 7.2% more than in the 2023 Budget Rebalance, while the total expenditures envisaged by the 2024 Budget Bill amount to 2,237,873,800,000 RSD.

Following a constructive debate, the Committee members proposed that the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending accept the Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Bill, Section 21 – Ministry of Economy, Section 28 – Ministry of Mining and Energy, Section 32 – Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade and Section 37 – Ministry of Tourism and Youth, submitted by the Government.

The Committee went on to consider and by majority vote accept the Ministry of Economy Activity Information for the period April-June 2023, presented by representative of the Ministry of Economy Dusan Sutanovac. The Committee members also considered and accepted the Ministry of Economy reports on the privatisation process for April, May, June, July, August and September.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman MA Dejan Radenkovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Zivan Bajic, Dalibor Jekic, Veroljub Arsic, Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Nikola Radosavljevic, MA Ninoslav Eric, Miodrag Gavrilovic, Zoran Sandic, Zoran Zecevic, Tijana Davidovac, Snezana Paunovic and Rodoljub Stanimirovic.

The sitting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade, Ministry of Tourism and Youth and Ministry of Mining and Energy.
