At the sitting held on 17 October, the members of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region discussed the Information on the activities and plans of the Assembly of the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region and how to address the expiration of the terms of office of the delegates of the Assembly of the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.

Fourth Sitting of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region
At the sitting held on 23 July, the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region discussed the failure to set up the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region. Foreign Ministry Secretary Veljko Odalovic informed the Committee members of the Ministry’s activities relating to the establishment of the Directorate which were, he said, entering the final stage. Odalovic explained that the Directorate had not been set up yet due to procedural problems – waiting for the Government’s decision regulating the Directorate’s operation which had only recently been passed.

At the sitting held on 16 June, the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region discussed the Report on the relief collected by the diaspora for the areas of Serbia affected by floods, presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General Veljko Odalovic.

Second Sitting of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region
The members of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region held a sitting on 19 May to discuss the natural disaster that struck Serbia and the Committee’s duties as regards organizing aid from the diaspora to the parts of Serbia threatened by flooding.
