14th Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction

At the sitting held on 26 September 2017, the members of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction reviewed the civic petitions and proposals submitted to the Committee.

The Committee members unanimously accepted the Working Group’s proposals how to process the civic petitions.

The Committee Chairperson went on to make two suggestions to have sittings outside of the National Assembly seat – in the cities of Krusevac and Nis.

Committee member Gorica Gajic suggested to hold a public hearing to, among other things, discuss the role of social welfare centres in social protection and to invite representatives of the association of social welfare centres, social workers, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs and representatives of other relevant institutions.

Committee member Tatjana Macura proposed to have a joint sitting of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction, Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality and Defence and Internal Affairs Committee.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Dr Vesna Rakonjac, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dragan Savkic, Prim. Dr Branimir Rancic, Tomislav Zigmanov, Bojan Torbica, Radovan Jancic, Dr Predrag Jelenkovic, Josip Broz, Gorica Gajic, Milanka Jevtovic Vukojicic, Tatjana Macura, Marija Jevdjic, Prim. Dr Vlado Babic and Milena Corilic.
