Workshop Held as Part of Twinning Project Component 4
Today, the National Assembly hosted a workshop titled “Presentation of the evaluation and recommendations for executive power supervision tools and introductory presentation on independent state bodies supervision”, as part of component 4 of the Twinning project dealing with improving the control function of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the Government and independent state authorities, organisations and bodies.
The workshop, focusing on the evaluation and recommendations on how to improve the National Assembly’s control function with a presentation of the experiences of the national parliaments of European Union member states, is the result of several visits of Greek experts who had the opportunity to learn about the institutes and procedures of parliamentary control.
The realisation of Twinning project “Strengthening the capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the European integration process” started on 1 January 2013 in cooperation with the Hellenic Parliament. The project aims to boost cooperation between the National Assembly and the Government, particularly as regards harmonisation of national legislation and the EU acquis communautaire, strengthening administrative capacities and raising the level of professionalism, improving the National Assembly’s control function, as well as the efficiency of the cooperation with representatives of the media and civil society.
