Veroljub Arsic with IMF Representatives on Improving Fiscal Transparency

The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending Veroljub Arsic, met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Technical Mission for the Evaluation of Fiscal Transparency.

The participants of the meeting discussed the process of adopting the budget and final financial statement, as well as the possibility of re-establishing the Parliamentary Budget Office.

They also discussed the reports that the Fiscal Council submits to the National Assembly, as well as the importance of involving citizens in the budget adoption process through the Ministry of Finance portal.

They assessed that the exchange of experiences and the improvement of fiscal transparency mechanisms are important to further strengthen of the role of the National Assembly in the budget oversight process.
