Sixtieth Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development
At the sitting held on 30 September, the Committee on Science and Technological Development reviewed the Information on the preparations for the 2011 census of population, households and dwellings. The sitting was attended by Assistant Director of the Republic Statistical Office, Zoran Jancic.
Zoran Jancic briefed the Committee members on the comprehensive organisational preparations for the census that is to take place from 1 to 15 October of this year and which is co-financed by the European Union via the pre-accession funds. The census preparations are accompanied by activities relating to the preparations for data processing. The first census results will be published on 15 November, and the final results will be published from September 2012 onward via Census Books, said Jancic.
The Committee members requested additional information on the criteria for the election of instructors and census takers, as well as certain announced boycotts of the census.
The members of the Committee on Science and Technological Development urged the citizens to take part in the census as it is in the interest of both the citizens and the state.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Srboljub Zivanovic.
