Serbian Progressive Party MPs Sign Organ Donor Cards at National Assembly House
The MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party signed organ donor cards at National Assembly House in the presence of the acting director of the Health Ministry’s Biomedicine Administration Dr Nenad Milojicic.
“Right now, Serbia has 110 thousand signed organ donor cards, but in order to fully raise the nation’s awareness of the organ transplantation and donation programme, we need to have a million and a half”, said Dr Milojicic.
Zoran Babic, Head of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, greeted the MPs who had signed the donor cards and urged the members of the other parliamentary groups at the National Assembly, members of the Serbian Progressive Party political group in Belgrade, as well as the MPs of the Serbian Progressive Party at the Assembly of AP Vojvodina, to sign organ donor cards and show their responsibility to themselves, their families and their country and the people who right now need organ transplants or will need it in future.
Member of Parliament Dr Branislav Blazic believes that signing donor cards is a matter of culture and civilizational level, saying that Serbia is last in Europe by the number of signed donor cards. “We would like to, in this way, motivate the citizens of Serbia to be humane and understand that they are more likely to need an organ transplant than be in the position to donate”, said Dr Blazic.
