Pirot Hosts Big International Gathering on Refugee Problem
The three-day 22nd Annual Conference of the International Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations, organisation with a seat in Moscow, starts today in Pirot. The topic of this year’s gathering of about fifty representatives of governments, parliaments, religious communities, scientific institutions, political parties and social organisations is “Christian view of the refugee problem in light of current situation”.
Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin will also address the international gathering in Pirot. The Serbian Assembly will be represented by Aleksandar Cotric, Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO). The Conference will be attended by political, religious and scientific representatives from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Moldova, Germany, Belarus, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Latvia, Ukraine, Estonia, the Czech Republic and others.
The participants are to adopt a Resolution at the end of the Conference and other final documents concerning the refugee problem in the Middle East and Europe.
