National Assembly Speaker Receives OSCE Media Freedom Representative

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic met today with Jan Braathu, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

Brnabic emphasised that she has always had excellent cooperation with Braathu and thanked him once again for all the help and support he provided to Serbia while he served as the Head of the OSCE Mission in our country.

The topic of the meeting was all current media reforms in Serbia, such as the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and the adoption of media laws in parliament.

The National Assembly Speaker once again expressed her belief that the media laws, which are fully supported by the European Commission, will contribute to the further improvement of the media scene in Serbia, and stressed that after their adoption, it is important to monitor their implementation.

The meeting was also attended by the Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Carolina Hidea.
