National Assembly Speaker Meets with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Serbia

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic met today with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia Kamil Khasiyev.

Ambassador Khasiyev heartily congratulated Speaker Brnabic on her new post, saying he was certain that the comprehensive successful cooperation between the two countries would be continued. Speaker Brnabic thanked him, stressing that the relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are very good and friendly, at the level of strategic partnership accompanied by continuous political dialogue and regular meetings of high-level dignitaries.

Brnabic highlighted the importance of continued visits and exchanges of between the two countries, mentioning the concrete invitation to Baku she had received from Speaker Gafarova.

In the course of the meeting, the officials exchanged opinions on the bilateral relations and current international issues, with Brnabic congratulating Baku on becoming this year’s host of the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP29 and confirming that Azerbaijan is a prominent figure in global multilateral events.

Speaker Brnabic and Ambassador Khasiyev agreed that there is ample potential to further cooperation in a number of areas and that the relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan would continue to develop to the benefit of both countries.
