National Assembly Delegation Takes Part in Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly
120th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union commenced today (6 April) in Addis Ababa. Over 180 countries and international organisations are taking part in this important Conference, as well as over 70 delegations including parliamentary speakers or deputy speakers.

In her address, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, in the general debate - “Parliaments: Building Peace, Democracy and Development in Times of Crisis”, talked about the world economic crisis and current political and social situation in the world. On the occasion, she appealed to the Inter-Parliamentary Union member states for solidarity and aid to undeveloped countries, joint fight against protectionism and isolationism, and opposition to discrimination, xenophobia and chauvinism. Also, she pointed out the importance of parliamentarism and the role of women in modern society.
The delegation included Nada Kolundzija, Jelena Trivan and Zeljko Tomic.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union is the oldest and largest international parliamentary organisation, comprising over 150 countries around the world.
