Members of National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Romania Visit Bucharest

The members of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Romania, lead by the Head of the Group Sinisa Stamenkovic, visited Bucharest between 21 and 23 February 2012.

On the occasion, the Friendship Group members talked to their colleagues in the House of Representatives and Senate of the Romanian Parliament, as well as the representatives of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about promoting interparliamentary and overall cooperation between the two countries, and the issue of national minorities in particular.

In the course of the visit, the officials agreed on a return visit of the Romanian Parliament to Serbia during which a Mixed Interparliamentary Commission would be created to address these issues through bilateral dialogue.

The visit of the National Assembly’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Romania was realised at the initiative the Romanian Parliament launched last year.

In addition to the Head of the Group, the delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Romania comprised MPs Jon Magda, Miletic Mihajlovic, Dragan Acimovic and Milan Lapcevic.
