The members of the Environmental Protection Committee briefed the guests on the National Assembly and Committee’s activities pointing out that in 2009 the National Assembly adopted a set of environmental laws compliant with European legislation. In the meeting, the representatives of BELLS movement (Balkan Environmental Life Leadership Standard) outlined the plan for future cooperation between the parliaments of the Western Balkans region, part of the two-year project Regional Environmental Advocacy Action and Cohesion in Western Balkans. The project aims to maker the issue of environmental conservation in the region an economic and social policy priority, with the help of the parliaments.
