At the sitting held on 24 February, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals considered the Report on the petitions and proposals submitted to the Committee between 1 June and 31 December 2010.

In the second half of last year, the Committee held three sittings, one of them in Nis, i.e. outside of the National Assembly headquarters. In the specified period the Committee received 187 petitions and proposals. The number of petitions submitted is higher than in the previous period which shows that the citizens continue to address the National Assembly even though they can also directly address the Ombudsman, Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Data Protection, Gender Equality Commissioner, etc. Most of the petitions pertained to the work of administrative and judiciary authorities. In the specified period the Committee focused on establishing direct contact with the public, and it established permanent cooperation with regulatory bodies and the non-governmental sector.

The Committee members unanimously adopted the Report.

The sitting was chaired by Sasa Dujovic, Committee Chairman.
