The Chairman of the European Integrations Committee, Laslo Varga received the Secretary General of the Franco-Austrian Centre, Peter Jankowitsch and the Austrian Ambassador to Serbia, Clemens Koja.

Peter Jankowitsch briefed the Committee Chairman on the Franco-Austrian Centre’s activities and proposed that a joint conference be held on Serbia’s European perspectives. The conference would be held in Belgrade around the end of June this year, and according to the proposed agenda it should discuss the economic development and reform in Serbia, then certain domestic and foreign policy issues, as well as certain issues of geo-strategic importance. The conference would mostly deal with the challenges of Serbia’s accession to the European Union and the expansion of its European perspective.

Chairman Laslo Varga deemed the organisation of such a conference useful and stressed that Serbia’s approach to the European Union is one of its foreign policy priorities.
