DPS Deputy Group Representatives Talk to Austrian People’s Party Delegation

Today at the National Assembly House, Milos Aligrudic, head of the DPS Deputy Group, and deputy Nikola Lazic received the mayors and city councilors from the Austrian People’s Party.


Today at the National Assembly House, Milos Aligrudic, head of the DPS Deputy Group, and deputy Nikola Lazic received the mayors and city councilors from the Austrian People’s Party. The Austrian delegation was headed by the Director of the Association for Local Affairs, Peter Danich.

In the talk, they pointed out the need to intensify contacts between the two related political parties so as to become better acquainted with each other and establish closer cooperation.

The guests were interested in the current political situation in Serbia and prospects for the improvement of overall cooperation between the two friendly countries, primarily in the field of economy. They were also interested in the functioning of public administration and local self-government and their working conditions.

DSS Deputy Group Head Milos Aligrudic briefed the guests on the political situation in Serbia, primarily the efforts to preserve Kosovo-Metohija within its borders. He said that a lot has been accomplished in bringing Serbia closer to the European Union and that Serbia is interested in developing good cooperation with EU member states.

Aligrudic stressed that Serbia endorses and actively participates in all regional initiatives contributing to the establishment of better cooperation among Western Balkan countries which is a guarantee of its increased security and a step towards Euro-integration. He also said that a model of good local self-government is still being sought after, one which would enable the citizens to participate in public affairs as directly as possible.
