At the ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Belgrade, Florence Ferrari, presented the Order of the Pleiades of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, in the rank of officer, to MA Jadranka Jovanovic.
The attendees were addressed by National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Marina Ragus, who stressed that the Republic of Serbia shares the fundamental values of La Francophonie, those of peace, democracy, respect for human rights and the power of dialogue. She thanked MA Jadranka Jovanovic, recognising her efforts and achievements thanks to which the Republic of Serbia moved from the status of observer to that of full member in La Francophonie.
She congratulated MA Jadranka Jovanovic on receiving the Order of the Pleiades of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie and highlighted her active work within the National Assembly delegation to the Francophonie PA.
"This is not just a political success and recognition in the world of culture and art, but the result of dedication and hard work," stressed the National Assembly Deputy Speaker, mentioning the exhibition "Serbia in Francophonie", presented in Montreal, Nice, Novi Sad and Belgrade.
The Head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie, MA Jadranka Jovanovic stressed that Serbia is recognised as a reliable and active partner of La Francophonie, and that cooperation with Francophone countries is successfully developing in the areas of culture, education, science and institutional development.
She recalled significant projects, including the exhibition "Serbia in Francophonie", presented in several cities in the country and abroad, as well as the organisation of a parliamentary seminar dedicated to Resolution 1325 and the Agenda "Women, Peace and Security", which confirmed the importance of parliamentary cooperation in promoting equality and dialogue.
She also pointed to the strong presence of the French language in the Serbian education system, emphasising that it is taught in a large number of primary and secondary schools, and that several bilingual schools carry the prestigious "LabelFrancÉducation" award, which testifies to the quality of teaching and commitment to the development of Francophone culture.
The Ambassador stressed that La Francophonie awards the Order of the Pleiades to individuals who, through their actions and dedication, revive the values of the community based on sharing, exchange, solidarity, humanism, and diversity.
"By deciding to honour Ms. Jovanovic, the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie recognises a personality who fully embodies these values."

During that period, numerous significant activities have been implemented that have contributed to strengthening Serbia's reputation within this important international organisation," said the French Ambassador.
