At the sitting held on 26 March 2026, the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee talked with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr Ahmed Salama Soliman.
The officials discussed the continuation of bilateral cooperation and further improvement of overall relations between Serbia and Egypt.
In his address, Ambassador Soliman gave a brief overview of the bilateral relations between Egypt and Serbia, assessing that the political relations between the two countries are at a very high level, with no open issues, and accompanied by mutual respect. The two countries are also in agreement as regards their positions in international relations. Both countries advocate consistent respect for the principles of international law and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. The emphasis in the coming period will be on the development and strengthening of economic cooperation, where there is much room for cooperation in a large number of areas such as the energy sector, renewable green energy, information technology and the field of health. The backbone of the economic relations between the two countries is made up of bilateral agreements that will provide additional impetus to strengthening economic cooperation between Serbia and Egypt.
The ambassador briefly reviewed the current situation in the Middle East and advocated for stopping the war and establishing lasting peace and security in the region.
