39th Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 26 March 2026, the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee talked with the Ambassador of the Republic of Lebanon to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr Youssef Jabre.


The officials discussed the current situation in the Middle East, and also reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries.

In his presentation, Ambassador Jabre gave a brief overview of the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Serbia, assessing that the relations between the two countries are very friendly, without open issues, and that there is agreement between the two countries on their positions in international relations. Both countries advocate consistent respect for the principles of international law and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. The emphasis in the coming period will be on the development and strengthening of economic cooperation, where there is a lot of room for cooperation in a large number of areas.
In his address, the Ambassador briefly reviewed the current situation in the Middle East and informed the Committee members about the number of deaths and injuries in Lebanon since the beginning of the conflict.

Pursuant to item 21 of the Decision on the Handling of Confidential Data, the sitting was closed to the public.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Marina Ragus.
