Dr Vladimir Orlic Meets with Azerbaijani Ambassador

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamil Khasiyev.

In the course of the conversation, the officials confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries and expressed their willingness to continue with the exceptional cooperation and strengthen partnership in all areas of mutual interest, especially joint infrastructure projects.

Dr Orlic and Khasiyev expressed their satisfaction with the launch of the Serbia-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector in December, in the presence of the two presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Ilham Aliyev.

Speaker Orlic thanked the Ambassador for Azerbaijan’s congratulations on the recently held elections, as well as for this friendly country’s support as regards respecting Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, was clearly demonstrated during so-called "Kosovo’s" candidacy to join the Council of Europe. He also congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the COP 29 conference.

The National Assembly Speaker and the Azerbaijani Ambassador agreed that the cooperation between the two countries will continue at the parliamentary level in the new National Assembly legislation as well, especially through mutual support in international parliamentary organisations.
