UAE Federal National Council President Saqr Ghobash Visits Serbia

The President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash, arrived today in official visit to Serbia, during which he will meet with the highest state officials and also talk at a special session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

Ghobash will speak at the Third Special Sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday, the only item on the agenda of which is his address to parliament.

Two cooperation agreements will be signed during the visit. This will also be the first time that a memorandum of cooperation is being signed with the General Secretariat of a country.

In early May, National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic, spoke with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Serbia Ahmed Hatem Almenhali, about furthering relations between the two countries and the upcoming visit of Saqr Ghobash to Serbia.

On the occasion, Brnabic emphasized that Serbia attaches great importance to relations with the United Arab Emirates, stressing that the arrival of the President of the Federal National Council will be an additional incentive for the further development of friendly relations between the two countries.

She particularly highlighted the importance of the personal friendship between the two presidents, as well as the trust that exists between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates, assessing that these relations are key for continued political, economic and parliamentary cooperation.
