UAE Federal National Council President Addresses Serbian National Assembly

The 14th Legislature of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held its Third Special Sitting today, at which the President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash, addressed the gathering.

National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic, stressed that it was a great honour to have the President of the UAE Federal National Council address the MPs, which once again confirmed the strong partnership and friendship between the two countries.

She declared the relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia to have reached a historical high, adding that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the General Secretariats of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates further confirms the exceptionally good bilateral relations and their uniqueness.

The President of the UAE Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, opined that the Agreement is an example of good parliamentary cooperation and expressed his belief that there is room to deepen it further.

He emphasised that the United Arab Emirates view Serbia as an important partner in the Balkans and Europe, and that he was honoured to address the members of parliament at a special sitting of the National Assembly.

He also thanked the National Assembly Speaker for her hospitality and expressed his belief in the further strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, inviting the Speaker to visit the United Arab Emirates.

After signing the Cooperation Agreement, the President of the UAE Federal National Council signed the Guest Book of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
