Twenty-Second Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security
At the sitting held on 13 April, the members of the Committee on Defense and Security conducted a joint discussion on 11 Bills confirming international defense and security treaties that have been included in the agenda for the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2010.State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense Dusan Spasojevic elaborated the Bills on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Iraq on cooperation and military training for Iraqi armed forces, of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain on cooperation in the field of defense, of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Kingdom of Norway on cooperation in the field of defense, of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria on exchange and mutual protection of confidential information in the field of defense, of the Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, of the Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, of the Defense Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Portugal, of the Military Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on cooperation in the field of defense.

The Committee on Defense and Security accepted the Bills, while Committee members Jadranko Vukovic, Natasa Jovanovic, Dragan Todorovic and Branimir Djokic reserved their opinion on all the Bills.
At the sitting, the Chair, Dusan Bajatovic informed the Committee that he had received a request of a third of the Committee members from the Serbian Radical Party, Democratic Party of Serbia and New Serbia to convene an urgent sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security with a single item on the agenda – the security situation in the country. He announced that he would convene a Committee sitting as quickly as possible.
The Committee sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairman Dusan Bajatovic.
