Thirty-Fourth Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family
At the sitting convened under article 71 paragraph 1 of the Rules of Procedure, held on 4 October, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family discussed the Proposal by the Serbian Radical Party Deputy Group that the Committee take a stand on the unprofessional and unethical conduct of Dr Miodrag Jevtic, Head of the Military Medical Academy (VMA), who prevented the provision of expert medical assistance to Prof. Dr Vojislav Seselj.
At the sitting convened under article 71 paragraph 1 of the Rules of Procedure, held on 4 October, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family discussed the Proposal by the Serbian Radical Party Deputy Group that the Committee take a stand on the unprofessional and unethical conduct of Dr Miodrag Jevtic, Head of the Military Medical Academy (VMA), who prevented the provision of expert medical assistance to Prof. Dr Vojislav Seselj.
Elaborating the proposal, Committee Chairman Dr Paja Momcilov said that on 20 September 2010 VMA Head Dr Miodrag Jevtic did not allow cardiologist Dr Zdravko Mijailovic, VMA employee, to provide advisory expert assistance to Prof. Dr Vojislav Seselj, currently at the detention facilities of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. He also stated that due to inadequate treatment, the life of Vojislav Seselj was vitally endangered.
The Committee members proposed that the topic be further debated in the presence of Dr Miodrag Jevtic, VMA Head, and representatives of the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal.
The sitting was chaired by Dr Paja Momcilov, Committee Chairman.
