Third Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 24 October 2022 outside of the National Assembly seat in the Indjija Municipal Assembly, the members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered the following:

1.Impact of agriculture on the environment;
2.Decision to establish of a Subcommittee for Monitoring the Agricultural Situation in Marginal - Least Developed Areas of the Republic of Serbia - Areas with Difficult Working Conditions in Agriculture;
3.Problems in agriculture, harvesting, autumn sowing and problems in the marketing of agricultural products, and
4.The Committee's recommendation that amendments and modifications to the Republic of Serbia Budget Law allow the allocation of funds for the payment of outstanding agricultural incentives.

Before moving on to the agenda, the President of the Municipality of Indjija Vladimir Gak addressed the attending.

Jelena Blagojevic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, spoke about the impact of agriculture on the environment.

The Committee went on to pass the Decision on the establishment of the Subcommittee for Monitoring the Agricultural Situation in Marginal - Least Developed Areas of the Republic of Serbia - Areas with Difficult Working Conditions in Agriculture and elected Milija Miletic Subcommittee Chairman.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management: assistant ministers Aleksandar Bogicevic and Nenad Vujovic, assistant director of the Directorate for Agrarian Payments Bojan Zivkovic and representative of the Group Monitoring Climate Change Impacts on the Agricultural Sector Dragana Drobnjak, spoke about the problems in agriculture related to harvesting, autumn sowing and problems in the marketing of agricultural products.

The sitting was also attended by representatives of relevant agricultural associations.

Following a discussion, the Committee drafted conclusions on the reviewed items of the agenda.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic, and attended by the following Subcommittee members and deputy members: Nikola Bokan, Milica Obradovic, Vesna Nedovic, Milija Miletic, Momir Stojilkovic, Arpad Fremond, Dijana Radovic, Dejan Bulatovic, Zoran Sandic, Miroslav Aleksic, Srdjan Milivojevic, Sanja Maric, Zivota Starcevic, Milovan Jakovljevic, Jelisaveta Veljkovic and Momcilo Vuksanovic, as well as MP Dr Jelena Kalajdzic.

The sitting outside of the National Assembly seat was held with the support of project “Strengthening Parliamentary Democracy and Inclusive Political Dialogue”, conducted by UNDP with the support of Switzerland.
