Talks on River Protection and Water Managment
Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection Sinisa Mitrovic, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Environmental Issues Srdja Popovic, and chairman of the board of directors of the `Belgrade Waterworks and Sewage` public utility enterprise Ivan Andjelkovic at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met Jens Jedlitschka, representative of the Bavarian Ministry of Development and the Environment.
Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection Sinisa Mitrovic, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Environmental Issues Srdja Popovic, and chairman of the board of directors of the `Belgrade Waterworks and Sewage` public utility enterprise Ivan Andjelkovic at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia met Jens Jedlitschka, representative of the Bavarian Ministry of Development and the Environment.
During talks on water management policy, Sinisa Mitrovic emphasised that the Environmental Protection Act, soon to be passed by the Serbian parliament, will devote great attention to water protection issues, and expressed the desire to establish cooperation with the corresponding committee of the German parliament.
Jens Jedlitschka informed his hosts that Germany will be presiding over the International Commission for the Protection of the River Danube, and expressed his wishes that our country should become a full member of the Commission then.
