Talks With the Speaker of the Flanders Parliament
The Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia today spoke to a delegation from Belgium headed by Mr.
Natasa Micic acquainted the guests with the Parliament’s current activities, especially the stepped-up legislative work under the state of emergency. Expressing the support of Belgium and her most important institutions for Serbia’s efforts to combat organised crime, both by specific actions and by reforms of systemic legislation, participants in the talks exchanged opinions and indicated possible avenues for such efforts.
The talks expressed the belief that the cooperation between the two countries would be even more intensive in the future. Chairperson Micic underlined that Belgian experiences in the field of constitutional reform were invaluable to Serbia.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Coveliers wished Serbia and Montenegro to strengthen ties with the European Union and join it as soon as possible.
