Sixth and Seventh Sitting of the of the Security Services Control Committee
At the sitting held on 19 November 2012, the Security Services Control Committee discussed and adopted the Security Information Agency Activity Report for the period January – September 2012 and the Security Information Agency Report on the security situation in the Republic of Serbia.
The Committee members gave a positive assessment of the Security Information Agency’s work in the reported period, its members’ engagement on the realisation of key tasks as regards protecting the constitutionally established order and security of the Republic, combating organised crime and activities aimed at committing crimes with a foreign element, domestic and international terrorism and the gravest crimes against humanity and international law.
At the seventh sitting, also held on 19 November 2012, the Security Services Control Committee discussed and adopted the Military Intelligence Agency Activity Report for the period 1 January – 1 October 2012.
The Committee members declared the reports of the Security Information Agency and Military Intelligence Agency excellent, detailed and providing a full insight into the most important segments of the work of the two security services in the reported period.
Having previously discussed and adopted the Military Security Agency Activity Report for the period 1 January – 1 October 2012 at the fifth sitting held on 15 November 2012, by adopting the activity reports on the Security Information Agency and Military Intelligence Agency the Committee rounded up the procedure of deliberating on the activity reports of the security services in the previous period which is the Committee’s duty under the Law on the Basis Regulating Security Services.
The Security Services Control Committee will continue its active supervision of the security services’ work to ensure the security services’ continued coordinated and concentrated work on achieving national interests pursued via intelligence-security activity.
The sittings, which were closed to the public, were chaired by Committee Chairperson Jadranka Joksimovic.
