Sixteenth Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security
At the sitting held on 9 February, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Information on the physical assault on deputy Velimir Ilic on 5 February 2010, submitted by the Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic and Chief of Police Milorad Veljovic.

After a debate that in addition to the Committee members included other deputies, the Committee unanimously adopted the following
Conclusion:
The Committee most severely condemns the physical assault on deputy Velimir Ilic on 5 February 2010 and expresses concern by a belief that assaults on deputies compromise political stability. The Committee requests that the authorities in charge shed light on the case and that the perpetrator be punished accordingly.
The sitting was attended by the Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic, Chief of Police Milorad Veljovic, Head of the Police Directorate general Mladen Kuribak and authorised representatives of the BIA Miroslav Panic, special advisor of the BIA Director and Jovan Stojic, BIA Director’s Chief of Staff.
In the continuation of the sitting that will be closed to the public, the Committee shall consider the Security-Information Agency’s (BIA) Information on the findings regarding Ratko Knezevic’s allegations.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Dragan Todorovic.
