Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality
At the sitting held on 26 August 2026, the members of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality considered, in detail, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Churches and Religious Communities, submitted by the Government.
Six amendments were submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Churches and Religious Communities. The Government forwarded an opinion to the National Assembly proposing that the amendments be rejected. The Committee did not accept the submitted amendments.
The sitting was attended by Assistant Minister of Justice Jovan Cosic.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Aleksandar Markovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Lepomir Ivkovic, Dragana Radinovic, Prof. Dr Mirka Lukic Sarkanovic, Prof. Dr Slobodan Cvejic, Boris Bajic, Dr Muamer Bacevac, Igor Jaksic, Prof. Dr Marko Milenkovic and Doc. Dr Rastislav Dinic.
