At the second sitting, held on 15 December, the members of the Committee on Urban Planning and Construction considered the Republic of Serbia 2009 Budget Bill – Section 21, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning Activity Report for the previous period and Work Plan for the upcoming period.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman Jovan Nesovic, and attended by the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic and associates.

Elaborating the Budget Bill, section dedicated to spatial planning, Minister Dulic stated that means have been secured to draft spatial plans, finance the Spatial Planning Agency and complete previously launched projects, like the construction of Avala Tower. The Minister pointed out that, unfortunately, no means had been secured for either social housing, or the second phase of reconstruction of objects endangered by landslides.

Minister Dulic presented the Ministry’s Activity Report and Work Plan for the upcoming period announcing the foundation of a Social Housing Agency, as well as a set of bills to be presented in front of the National Assembly, from the Social Housing Bill to the Planning and Construction Bill.

Following the discussion, the Committee accepted the Republic of Serbia 2009 Budget Bill – Section 21, Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning Activity Report for the previous period and Work Plan for the upcoming period by a majority of votes.
