Second Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 18 December 2020, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee considered the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the third quarter of 2020.

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Senad Mahmutovic presented the Ministry’s Activity Information to the Committee members. He said that thanks to the systemic support measures and the agricultural producer’s work and effort, the indicators of agricultural production and trends in that sector are encouraging, despite the impact of the COVID pandemic. Mahmutovic pointed out that, according to statistical data, the agricultural sector achieved a 4.2% growth in the third quarter compared to the same period last year and it is expected to reach 4.4% GDP by the end of 2020.

The State Secretary said that the data on yields and total quantities after the end of the harvest are satisfactory, the yield of wheat is higher by 17% compared to the previous year. In the beef export sector, the value of exports in the first ten months was at the level of the whole of 2019, and in terms of livestock exports, this amount has doubled compared to the previous year.

Mehmutovic said that 26.2 billion RSD have so far been allocated for direct incentives.

Following a discussion, the Committee adopted the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Activity Information for the third quarter of 2020.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members:  Veroljub Matic, Tijana Davidovac, Zarko Bogatinovic, Goran Spasojevic, Velibor Stanojevic, Ilija Matejic, Olja Petrovic, Ljubinko Rakonjac, Dijana Radovic, Arpad Fremond, Nikola Kozovic, Hadzi Milorad Stosic i Nenad Filipovic.
