SEECP PD Working Group Holds Third Meeting
The Working Group of the South East Europe Cooperation Process Parliamentary Dimension (SEECP PD) held its third meeting on 3 and 4 November 2011 in Belgrade, organised by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
As Serbia is presiding over the Process from June 2011 to June 2012 the meeting was chaired by National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Working Group member Gordana Comic while MPs and coordinators from Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Macedonia, as well as representatives of the Croatian Embassy in Serbia, Regional Secretariat for Parliamentary Cooperation in South East Europe and Friedrich Ebert Foundation took part in the meeting. The meeting was preceded by a meeting of the SEECP PD national coordinators.
The Working Group meeting was dedicated to potential models of SCEEP PD institutionalization. As the meeting focused on two possible types of institutionalization of the process: establishment of a regional Parliamentary Assembly or cooperation in specific areas of common interest with no firm institutional structure, it was agreed to complete two analyses which would list the advantages of the proposed solutions. The matter will be discussed at the next Working Group meeting planned for the second half of December in
