As part of the programme of acquainting students with republic and federal institutions, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Democracy Section of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro organised a visit for a group of students and teachers from secondary schools from the Serbian city of Arandjelovac to the National Assembly on 29 October.

The young people from Arandjelovac, who are members of school parliaments, found it fun to learn about National Assembly activities and talk to Assembly Chairman Predrag Markovic and deputies.

Three more groups of students from Serbian towns are scheduled to visit the National Assembly by 1 January.

As part of the Open Door Day programme, organised by the National Assembly in co-operation with OSCE, the parliament was toured by four groups of visitors on Saturday 30 October. One group was made of students who took the opportunity of visiting Serbia’s supreme legislative body while attending a seminar in Belgrade.

All visitors were greeted by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, and then toured the building’s most important spaces, finally attending a presentation of the Assembly’s activities and a mock-vote in the plenary hall. The Assembly’s Secretary, Marko Danilovic, answered all visitors’ questions about the work of the Administrative Service; deputies from Democratic Party of Serbia, G17 Plus and Socialist Party of Serbia deputies’ groups talked to the interested visitors, who included a group of pensioners.

According to custom, all groups ended their tours of the parliament in the Assembly restaurant, and all visitors received a complimentary brochure on the National Assembly of Serbia.
