National Assembly Speaker at GLOBSEC 2026 Panel: EU Enlargement Must Be a Win-Win Process

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, took part in panel “Beyond the Waiting Room: Rethinking EU Enlargement", on the last day of GLOBSEC 2026 in Prague.

The National Assembly Speaker pointed out that gradual integration into the European Union represents an approach in which all parties benefit and emphasised that it is important to find a model that brings results during the accession process itself.

"Not through an 'all or nothing' system, but through gradual integration and concrete solutions that deliver results on the fly," Brnabic said.

Speaking about the future of the Union, Brnabic opined that a stronger Europe means less bureaucracy, more efficiency, and more space for cooperation that yields concrete results.

She stressed that only such an approach can contribute to making the enlargement policy and European integration mutually beneficial, as a process in which both candidate countries and the European Union itself achieve progress and concrete benefits.
