Brnabic pointed out that she had visited Paracin and Pomoravlje several times and followed the development of this region with particular attention, emphasising that though much has been done in the previous period, more work awaits us still.

"I have been to Paracin and our Pomoravlje region many times. We struggled, alongside our President Aleksandar Vucic, to preserve the Serbian glass industry and breathe new life into it. We built new roads, reconstructed schools and are completing the Glass Museum. In May 2012, the average salary in Paracin was 309 euros, and in May this year it is 825 euros. We have changed things, but we still have a lot to do," said Brnabic.

She stressed that one of the prerequisites for the further development and preservation of tradition, old crafts and ways of life is stronger support for micro and small enterprises and family businesses.

"That is why I am here today, as this event is an opportunity to uphold and preserve our tradition, customs and way of life, as well as to support the hardworking people who keep all of it alive through their work. Here we can learn about the wealth of different parts of Serbia, to remind ourselves of how much we have to be proud of, and to pass on what we have inherited from previous generations to those who come after us," said the National Assembly Speaker.

“Ethno Fest" is dedicated to preserving tradition, old crafts, customs and cultural heritage, and brings together participants and exhibitors who represent the wealth of different regions of Serbia.
