National Assembly Speaker Receives Turkish Ambassador to Serbia
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, MA Nebojsa Stefanovic, received H.E. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Turkish Ambassador, at his request.
The Turkish Ambassador thanked the NARS Speaker for the reception and conveyed the Turkish top officials’ greetings and wishes for the improvement of bilateral relations at all levels, especially in the sphere of interparliamentary cooperation. He pointed out the dimensions of the economic cooperation and relations between the two nations, as well as the priorities of his mandate in Serbia. He informed the Speaker about the Turkish Embassy’s activities as regards specific projects aimed at improving economic cooperation and keeping Turkish entrepreneurs informed on the advantages of investment into Serbia, in particular. The Turkish Ambassador highlighted the wish for presence in the financial sector, underlining the interest for joint projects, in view of the special status Serbia enjoys in its cooperation with the European Union, Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
NARS Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic was pleased at the meeting and stressed the interest in strengthening both the economic aspect and ties between the two nations. Stefanovic underlined the National Assembly’s readiness to offer support to all types of cooperation, particularly to Turkish investment into Serbia. Stefanovic also emphasised the relationship between interparliamentary cooperation and improvement of economic relations, and in that context informed the Ambassador of Serbia’s eagerness for a meeting between the two countries’ parliament speakers in either Ankara or Belgrade.
