National Assembly Speaker Receives Portuguese Ambassador in Farewell Visit

Serbian National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic received H.E. Maria do Carmo Allegro de Magalhaes, in a farewell visit.


In the meeting, H.E. the Portuguese Ambassador conveyed her pleasure at having the opportunity to represent Portugal in Serbia, stressing that she had gained considerable experience and learned a lot about this, she said, country of rich history, tradition and culture.

Ambassador Magalhaes pointed out that in the previous period she had worked on familiarizing the Portuguese public with Belgrade’s positions.

Talking openly about the current political situation in the region and the situation in Kosovo-Metohija in particular, the officials agreed on the importance of negotiations.

National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic thanked the Portuguese Embassy for the cooperation, deeming that H.E. Magalhaes helped further the two countries’ relations. Stefanovic added that Portugal has always been considered a friendly country and expressed expectation that the country’s new ambassador to Serbia would continue the joint work on deepening the relations within the existing cooperation.
