The National Assembly Speaker said that Serbia and Liberia have traditionally good and friendly, yet sadly underdeveloped, relations. He reminded the guest that as the head of diplomacy, he tried to renew the relations between the two countries and had the opportunity to host his then colleague, the Liberian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Belgrade. He also mentioned that as the Speaker of the National Assembly, he had sent an invitation to his colleague, Liberian Parliament Speaker Bhofal Chambers, to visit Serbia, as the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries is insufficiently developed. He went on to say that in addition to political dialogue, there is room to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, sports, culture and more.

Minister Wilson agreed that relations between Liberia and Serbia are traditionally friendly and that there is room for their improvement, expressing special interest in strengthening cooperation in the field of sports by having the two ministries sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic confirmed Serbia’s readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of sports, especially in sports medicine and the fight against doping.
