National Assembly Speaker Receives Indian Ambassador to Serbia
The Indian Ambassador thanked the National Assembly Speaker for the reception and presented him with an invitation to visit both the houses of the Indian Parliament.
She deemed the bilateral relations traditionally good, noting that a visit by Speaker Stefanovic to India would follow a conspicuous break in the exchange of inter-parliamentary visits.
Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic shared his pleasure at the meeting confirming Serbia’s interest in developing inter-parliamentary relations, based on the exchange of experiences and particularly in view of the importance of the relations between the Republic of Serbia and India. He shared Serbia’s interest in boosting economic cooperation and presented the advantages of investing into Serbia. He accepted the invitation to visit India and extended gratitude for its principled support as regards the Kosovo-Metohija issue.
Ambassador Mukhopadhaya stressed how important India considers its cooperation with Serbia as a traditionally friendly country, emphasising that India’s support of Serbia comes from the perspective of a developing country, so it would continue to create its position on issues of national interest for Serbia by following Serbia’s own position.
