National Assembly Speaker Receives Bulgarian Ambassador to Serbia
Yesterday, on 10 October, National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic received H.E. Angel Dimitrov, Bulgarian Ambassador.
The Bulgarian Ambassador thanked the National Assembly Speaker for the reception and congratulated him on the election, at the same time assessing the interparliamentary cooperation in the overall bilateral relations.
He emphasised the role of the parliament in the Euro-integration process and commended the broad support the process enjoys by the political actors in Serbia. Ambassador Dimitrov shared the Bulgarian side’s readiness to continue to support Serbia’s Euro-integration process.
The NARS Speaker, Nebojsa Stefanovic shared Serbia’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation, emphasising the importance of parliamentary cooperation at the level of working bodies, particularly in view of the fact that cooperation with neighbouring countries is Serbia’s foreign policy priority.
He also highlighted the importance of economic cooperation, particularly in the domains of agriculture and energy production.
Speaker Stefanovic underlined the Parliament’s readiness to support cooperation in the spheres of the trade and economy, oriented toward real and measurable results. Expressing readiness to exchange visits with the Bulgarian Parliament Speaker and relevant delegation members, it was jointly deemed that cultural cooperation should be boosted as well, based on the fact that mutual familiarisation of the two nations would strengthen the two countries’ readiness for cooperation.
