Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Sulejman Tihic, Chair of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly House of Peoples. In addition to Tihic, the meeting was attended by Semsudin Mehmedovic, deputy at the BiH Parliamentary Assembly House of Representatives. The officials agreed that history should be left to the historians and that meetings between the two sides based on dialogue would contribute to solve the question of the present and future. It is essential to achieve compromise in the dialogue. Tihic added that “it is the differences between us that should be our advantages”.

Tihic accepted the NARS Speaker’s proposal that each of them should initiate more frequent meetings between deputies so as to intensify cooperation between the two parliaments, particularly between friendship groups and standing committees.

Djukic-Dejanovic stated that BiH should be Serbia’s strategic partner, not only politically and as a neighbour, but in the sphere of economy as well.
