National Assembly Speaker Receives Belgian Ambassador

The National Assembly Speaker, Nebojsa Stefanovic, received H.E. Alain Kundycki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Belgrade, at his request. The Belgian Ambassador was pleased by the new Government and parliamentary majority’s commitment to continue the Euro-integration process, which was the position conveyed during the visit of the Serbian Government’s highest dignitaries to Belgium.

Speaker Stefanovic emphasised the Serbian side’s interest in strengthening economic cooperation. He hoped that the date for the commencement of negotiations for EU accession would soon be set and thanked Belgium for its support in the process. As regards the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, he urged the international community to advocate human rights protection, particularly as regards safety of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

Ambassador Kundycki stressed that Belgium is a firm proponent of dialogue, especially on European Union enlargement.

The officials reaffirmed their readiness to further and deepen bilateral cooperation in all spheres.
