National Assembly Speaker Receives Ambassador of Vatican
National Assembly Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic received Monsignor Orlando Antonini, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See in Belgrade.
Congratulating on the election for NARS Speaker, H.E. Antonini advocated furthering cooperation, showing readiness to overcome the historic experiences which have so far burdened the improvement of bilateral relations. In that context, he pointed out that the Holy See had not recognised the “independence of Kosovo-Metohija”.
The officials agreed on the need to improve bilateral cooperation in the sphere of humanitarianism and the cultural domain in particular, mentioning next year’s jubilee celebration of Constantine’s Edict as a direct reason for it.
They expressed readiness to improve overall bilateral relations in future. The Assembly Speaker thanked the Holy See for its support of Serbia’s state priorities.
