The meeting focused on how to boost cooperation between the two parliaments and exchange experiences relating to European integration.
Speaker Stefanovic welcomed the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Srpska, expressing his pleasure at the opportunity to further the relations between the two national assemblies and concertize the Protocol of Cooperation between them. Speaking of the work of the National Assembly, he emphasised its oversight role and transparency particularly of the work of the National Assembly committees. Stefanovic pointed out the importance of cooperation between the two assemblies’ working bodies especially when it comes to internal reform priorities and Euro-integration aimed at raising the citizens’ standard and quality of living. The National Assembly Speaker opined that the cooperation between the two parliaments is good, saying he hopes it would continue to develop.
The representatives of the committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska stressed that meetings such as this one are extremely important for the exchange of experiences between the two parliaments. They stated that Serbia is becoming the leader in the region when it comes to Euro-integration and added that Serbia’s experience in the process is extremely important for the Republic of Srpska.
The meeting was also attended by National Assembly Secretary General Jana Ljubicic, as well as chairpersons and deputy chairpersons of National Assembly committees Dr Aleksandra Tomic, Jadranka Joksimovic, Zoran Babic, Natasa Vuckovic, Dr Milan Knezevic, Radojko Obradovic and Milovan Drecun.
