National Assembly Speaker Meets with Italian Parliament’s Committee on EU Policies Chairman

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, met today with the Chairman of the Committee on European Union Policies of the Italian Parliament, Alessandro Giglio Vigna, heading the delegation currently visiting Serbia, which also includes members of the Chamber of Deputies, Lucrezia Maria Benedetta Mantovani, Isabella De Monte and Calogero Pisano.

Speaker Brnabic said that bilateral relations are at a high level, with an active development of parliamentary cooperation, a number of reciprocal visits at all levels, adding that Italy is a country with which we have a strategic partnership and the first European Union member state with which strategic cooperation has just been established.

She was particularly grateful to Italy for its continued and strong support of Serbia's European path, as well as for its ample assistance to Serbia's efforts related to opening Cluster 3.

Speaker Brnabic particularly emphasised the high-level of economic cooperation between the two countries, since Italy has been one of Serbia's most important economic partners for many years, and that the cooperation will continue to follow the same direction.
