National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Receives Brazilian Ambassador in Farewell Visit
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received Brazilian Ambassador Eduardo Eduardo Barbosa in farewell visit today.
Assembly Speaker Dacic thanked the Ambassador for his engagement and friendly cooperation. He praised the bilateral relations characterised by a high degree of mutual understanding, with no outstanding issues, adding that there is room to intensify cooperation at various levels, especially the parliamentary. Dacic also expressed hope for an exchange of parliamentary visits of the highest level soon after the elections.
Ambassador Barbosa said he hoped the overall relations between Serbia and Brazil would continue to expand in the coming period, especially in the sphere of economy. He stressed that the Brazilian side is interested in developing parliamentary cooperation, especially at the level of parliamentary friendship groups and within international organisations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
National Assembly Speaker Dacic took the opportunity to again thank Brazil for its principled support in the Kosovo-Metohija matter and Serbia’s efforts to come to a mutually acceptable solution to the southern province through negotiations, with the expectation that the cooperation would be continue.
