National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Meets with Italian Ambassador to Serbia

Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received Italian Ambassador to Serbia Carlo Lo Cascio.

Ambassador Carlo Lo Cascio stressed that the relations between Serbia and Italy are well-developed in all areas, reminding the host that Italy supports Serbia’s European integration process and conveying the country’s readiness to provide all the necessary assistance in the reform processes.

At the guest’s inquiry, National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic informed him about the activities related to the inter-party dialogue and the meeting he had with the parties that want no foreign participation in the dialogue, attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. He also conveyed his thoughts on the meeting he had last week with representatives of the European Parliament involved in the process.

National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic also briefed the guest on the constitutional amendment process, saying that there would be a series of public hearing in the coming period and the constitutional amendment would be discussed at a National Assembly session in early June 2021.

The officials discussed the possibilities for furthering cooperation between the two parliaments by continuing the cooperation between the parliamentary committees and friendship groups, as well as through an exchange of visits of heads of parliament.

They also discussed the cooperation between the two countries’ parliamentary delegations in international organisations.
