National Assembly Speaker Hosts Children from Herzegovina – Republic of Srpska

In a series of visits to Belgrade by children from region, students and their chaperones from Herzegovina - Republic of Srpska and representatives of their homeland associations from Belgrade had the opportunity to visit the National Assembly House, where they were greeted and welcomed by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic.

Addressing the children, Orlic said how pleased he was to have the opportunity to greet the students from Herzegovina, who are, he said, at home. "As you know, this House belongs not only to all the citizens of the Republic of Serbia, it belongs to everyone who is part of our people, wherever they may live. Welcome!" He said that the National Assembly itself represents a historical and cultural monument and bears witness to the formation and endurance of our country and people. He added that the National Assembly House is a place where state policy is implemented, meaning the building of the state and national self-confidence through clear results. "That is the policy with which today we also nurture our closeness, preserve our culture, language, cherish our Cyrillic script and take care of every individual, and it is especially important for us to show that care for the members of the Serbian people, wherever they may live.” He added that the state is pursuing a policy of strengthening Serbia, which is reflected in the opening of factories, construction of highways and railways, as well as in investments in schools, universities, new technology parks and institutes, and clinical centres. "It is all yours and this kind of policy is directed towards you as well, this kind of policy in Serbia is led by the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and implemented by the National Assembly and the Serbian Government."

He thanked the organisers and the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Milimir Vujadinovic, who made it possible for the children to visit Serbia. Orlic told the students to use these days to get to know the beauties of Serbia and to feel its love. "We all know that nothing in this world compare with the love you have for Serbia. But always look at what you can do for your Serbia as well, and know that you are always more than welcome in every city in it, every place, and especially in this House, because this is your house," Orlic concluded.
